Before you convert a video: how to check your rights
October 31, 2026 • 3 min read
Do you own it?
If you created the recording yourself, you are usually in the clearest position. Remember that music or clips from other people inside your video may still have their own rights.
Do you have permission?
If someone else made it, look for a license or written permission that covers what you plan to do. Check whether it allows copying, editing or commercial use.
Do the platform's rules allow it?
Video platforms have their own terms, which can apply even when you have other rights to the content. Read the terms of the service you are using.
